FLAG RETIREMENT EVENT

Saturday, January 17, 2026 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Participants are invited to bring their worn-out flags: United States, State and MIA / POW flags for patriotic retirement in a campfire setting.

IPOIA is partnering with our local VFW unit to honor and officially retire those flags that are no longer appropriate to fly proudly to represent our nation or our states. Flags commemorating service members missing in action or prisoners of war will also be retired at this respectful event.

Bring a lawn chair if you wish, but please leave food and pets at home.

Pickleball Groundbreaking Work Day

PICKLEBALL IS COMING TO IVANHOE!

IPOIA is excited to announce that the location of our Pickleball courts will be the Reserve area on Charmaine Dr. E. across from Candy Cane Park.

We will have a Pickleball Court Groundbreaking day this Saturday, November 2nd at 10am. We invite volunteers to join us to break the perimeter, dig, and set forms to make ready for concrete pouring day (date TBD).

We ask volunteers to bring work gloves and if you happen to have a shovel, rake or hoe, please bring them. You will volunteer alongside other dedicated volunteers that will provide tractors and equipment needed for bigger jobs.

Please park on Mayberry Dr. between traffic cones. (No Parking on Charmaine Dr. E.)

Fall Stargazing Event
IPOIA has invited the National Park Service to host an informative evening of stargazing in John Feeley Park, located at the corner of Lakewood and Ivanhoe Estates Drive. We might even catch a glimpse of some shooting stars from the tail end of the Leonid Meteor Shower! There will be several telescopes set up, offering a close-up view of planets and stars.

Our very own Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department will be providing delicious hot dogs and all the fixings for a delightful evening.

Bring the whole family for this fun-filled evening. We encourage you to enjoy this family-friendly event, but for the safety of all participants, please leave your furry family members at home.

Spring Stargazing Event

Back by popular demand!

A Stargazing Event sponsored by the National Park Service, hosted by the IPOIA and Ivanhoe Civic Club. Bring your entire family to John Feeley Park (AKA Helipad Park) on Sat. May 3, 7:30 for a fun, informative program as we check out the Moon's surface up close and personal with telescopes, learn about our solar system, constellation identification and how they were named, and enjoy popcorn and snow-cones under the Spring sky!

We had over 60 participants for our Fall Stargazing event, and if you missed it, here's your second chance to enjoy one of our favorite parks at night! We hope to see you there!
